A program called “AEO Talk: Implementation of the National Agenda” recently took place at the Seberang Jaya Customs Complex. It was organized by the AEO Unit of Penang, in collaboration with Keysight Technologies Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. and the Malaysia Semiconductor Industry Association (MSIA).
The main objective of the event was to highlight the benefits of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) for the industry, with a focus on Penang. Over 200 invited guests attended the program, including officials from the Customs Department and representatives from various companies.
The program began with a comprehensive briefing on AEO presented by Mr. Azman Bin Ismail, Assistant Senior Director of Customs I. Additionally, the highlight of the day was the distribution of accreditation certificates to companies that had obtained AEO approval in 2022.
Achieving AEO status is a strategic decision that offers numerous advantages. It enables streamlined customs procedures, enhances security measures, improves supply chain efficiency, and provides international recognition. Moreover, AEO certification establishes a solid foundation for compliance, risk management, and enhances the reputation of businesses in the industry.
